Location: Wolverhampton		I think I agree as I was given it - its one with a cold air feed you can mount into the bumper but I think i'm going to remove it as ive got a ramair foam filter

Location: Tamworth/Measham		Yea filter looks out of place tbh, but over all i luuuuuuuuuurvvvvvvvvvvv 205 GTI wheels on 106's and Saxo's, brillbuild tho love it, i brought a VTS and was going to do this with my old man and uncle and turn it into a track car

Fair play to you tho, VTR's are quick once you've cammed then with a decent port and polish, look into it

Ive swapped the filter for a ram air one now, as I've managed to get the shitty gauze one out of the casing.
Its not a standard VTR engine in mine - its the one from the 106 xsi which is a 1.6 8v with higher comp pistons and a 270 degree cam. Should give me about 110 bhp with the mods currently on it which is more than enough for a bit of fun on track. If I get bored though I'm going to fit a 16v 14/JP4 engine but its early days yet.
Whats your mates running? Providing you get the weight down they are going to be pretty nippy with id estimate 160+ bhp. Easily as quick as a VVC anyway I'd have thought?

Mate has a 106gti it's alright but not as quick as a vvc, he'd destroy me on track though, if he learned to drive....

Is that the one on throttle bodies? Id like to try something like bike carbs but its a lot of work for not a lot of gain on the 8v

Cheers dude, I'm going to see how I get on with that cage as it seems reasonably solid but the proof is in the pudding, hopefully I wont come back after a roll missing a head. A full OMP cage at £800+ is a bit out of my price range at the moment. Ramair is on now, but no batteries in the camera

Yeah, only thing is that cage in a crash will just shear the bolts and act like spears, seen it before in my mates rallycross car, its why FIA cages are FIA approved lol, only bolts allowed are for door bars (and they have to be bolted a certain way, not crushed tube bolted to crushed tube lol) and the main rear cage must be welded and joined in a certain manner etc, main loop must be one piece bla bla bla.

I'll see if my mates still got his saxo full cage, he only wanted £250 for it, and its still FIA approved with the papers etc, if it hasnt sold i'll sort you out his details.

Look forward to more progress on it though, proper budget track car that looks the part and will handle damn well!

There's also a cheap cages for a 106 or saxo's really cheap have a look on ebay,

Saw a back cage out of a Saxo VTS Turbo go for 190 a month back it was red
