Right, I've never really had a journal or ever posted about things I've done to my car. Just asked questions on how to do it. So I thought it was about time after nearly 3 years of being on here I started a proper photo journal of my car.

It started life as my Nan's 111SLi, completely standard, I suppose you could say it had one extra- a towel over the rear seat.

I haven't really typed a lot here about the mods, but if your interested in any, reply here or PM me.

Thats it so far. I'll try and keep this updated.

The bottom half of the rear driver side door is a different colour.

@ R100_vvc. They won't fit on the 6 spokes they are too wide.

I think i prefer the 6 spokes, l think the cross wire look too old skool on 100's.
Why not put the 185's off your cross spokes on to them?

Very tidy, drivers rear door is a different shade of silver to the rest of it? I'm liking the MGF rear view mirror, might have to look into that one.

The X spokes are 185, the 6 spokes are 165.

besides, Id rather use the tyres I actually got. They just need transferring from the steelies.

Since these photos, I've got front door cards in.

So I'm on the look out for GTA door cards [easier to get hold of and not a massive difference].

Also, I have GTi skirts that need spraying and fitting.

I have since got my 'Rover' numberplates, completed my rear doorcards and my GTi skirts are currently at the bodyshop.

I have fitted a Citroen Xsara splitter. [I copied Daz's green Ascot]

For those interested in my new 'Rover' plates.

As requested from my small audience, are photos of my new GTi side skirts. Im very happy with the colour match actually, usually silver is a right fook to match, but I think the body shop guy did a top notch job... all for £50!

Just to add also, as you may or may not have noticed, I now also have some genuine head lamp protectors. Straight from Rimmer Bros.

I'm thinking for next few months, perhaps electric mirrors so I'm on the prowl for all the relevant parts- I don't want to be making any more looms. My brain still hurts from the last one. If anyone has a full set up, PM me!

Ok, so here's my 'week or so' update with a couple of mods I've done over the last couple weeks after bill paying allows.

First of all I ordered a Richbrook leather Speed Top gear knob, collar and gaitor after I saw Taylor's black GTi thread. I'd always kinda been after something else as I've never liked the factory rubber gaitor and rather unattractive knob. I saw the Richbrook items and thought the leather would compliment my steering wheel and the chrome looks factory. Only thing I'm not keen on is the 'R' sticker, but I'm not sure whats under it so I say it stands for Rover if anyone asks. lol

Secondly I saw Pandy's yellow ZR detail thread and the grille photo really made me want so MG mesh, so 2 days later after finding some decent not mad priced stuff on the tinternet I ordered some. You may have noticed I do a lot of things on impulse! Mesh arrived, a lot of cutting, filing and touch up spraying to tart it up and then attaching the mesh- don't ask how, it was my dad's idea. Also, as a finishing touch to my 'refurbished' grille I treated it to a nice new and colour vibrant Rover badge, as my old one was more dirty bronze and pink. I plan to spray the top section of the bumper behind the grille black to make the mesh stand out, what do you think?

I also have some ARBs in my garage that arrived about a week ago- I'm waiting til next month when I shall buy some rubber thingys- the name has completely gone of my head! lol Then I plan to have them put on by a friendly MP member not too far away. Also in the pipeline is some electric mirrors which have also been put in the garage- luckily in the exact right colour as MG decided that the best colour should be carried onto the TFs!

Anyways, Ill shut up and pics...

and the most important mod of them all recently...

Also, incase you guys were wondering and because I haven't posted any pics for a longgg time here's a couple of my Dad's MG. It was washed and everything for a local car show, then it was a washout so we never took it, but got it out today.

Damn! I was literally about 20 mins from home the night before the MGM on the way to Pandy's when my alternator light came on. I was just about 30 seconds out the petrol station after filling up. After a few frantic calls and checks I drove it carefully home with everything off. With the kind actions of R100_vvc [Sean] the next day [day of MGM] I was back up and running again. It seems my alternator was worn and charging very slowly. Sean had a spare off his old runabout tro and so came up from Sittingbourne in his new S reg Diesel to do the job. Thanks very much Sean!

Here is a couple of photos of the work being done and featuring the S reg.

Right, been a little busy this afternoon. Had my mate round who and has a mini and while he was tinkering on that, I was fitting my new sun roof visor, which I know came in A series car, all or some I'm not sure. Took me around 30 minutes to fit and get perfect. Should stop the 'booming' when the sunroof is out but windows closed and stop me being blinded when it's sunny. lol Thanks to 'R100-Dave' for that.

Pics will be coming soon. when comparing to my Dad's MG when fitting I noticed it has different sun visors- they are essentially the same but had a 'Alcantara' sort of fabric patch on them and look a little more upmarket from the standard K series ones. Maybe another mod in the pipeline, but it would require an MG [or other model?] to be broken.

Anti Roll bars still to come... sitting in garage waiting for some turd to clean and hammerite them, so then I can after get some Polybushes [expensive!? ]and then have Sean [again] fit them.

This is the mesh. I bought the smallest size and still have a little left over. I was VERY hard to cut and therefor why it is mounted as rectangles behind the grille instead of cut to shape and mounted on the front.

http://www.ruderacing.co.uk/Styling_&_Accessories-Exterior_&_Body_Styling-Stainless_Mesh/c29633_1674_1816/p324480/MG_Stainless_Steel_Woven_Mesh/product_info.html

I need to get another big sheet to do the bottom.

Ok people, as some of you may already know, I have a bit of a thing for genuine accessories. Just a couple of weeks ago after months of searching I found a genuine approved accessories brochure for the Rover 100 on ebay, only £12...ouch. I NEVER normally pay that, but this, I really wanted. Then only Sunday I attended BL day in Peterborough with the MOC and I see a stand selling brochures "£1 each" and you can probably guess the rest really. lol

I have had a little bit of luck recently [well actually before the above events] with my gathering of genuine accessories. A non member 'normal' person messaged Jack on the MOC saying he had a item from his previous Metro, and it was an item I was contemplating buying new for £80 from a Rover garage in the Netherlands. I saw the thread and half expecting the item to be Wirral or Brum I didn't hold out much hope until I saw it was located in Tadworth, Surrey, which is only about a 40 minute drive from my house, and not far from my Nan's. I emailed the guy within seconds and had it picked up the next day...

A rare item indeed, a genuine Rover Metro/ 100 boot liner/ tray. I picked it up for the grand sum of £15, which when ordered new from Rover was in the region of £85!! He said his Rover Metro from 1991 had been a dealer demo model which had also had headlamp protectors and when his wife sold it 18 months ago to their neighbour [she was struggling with no PAS] it had only done 8 thousand miles and still had the protectors!

I also a while back bought this item new from Xpart from Merseyside [buying a brochure with part numbers was really a bad idea!] for a little too much, then a week after getting Martin telling me he had one he didn't want kicking around...

Can anyone guess? Cerbera I believe has installed a couple of these to his previous Metros... I am looking to install it soon but I am concerned as I read somewhere you have to do something differently in a 100 with the airbag- which isn't covered in the instructions... For those that don't know it's the Rover ZERO ice indicator. It glows Red under 0c red and green about 3 degrees and green only over 5 degrees. It sounds naff and probably is, but I like my accessories.

Brochure photo:

From a while ago also, I got from Sejin26 on mg-rover.org a genuine/ unipart rear sunblind for the Metro which goes on at the bottom of parcelshelf as shown:

and

So that's my update on accessories. I will update when I have the Rover ZERO temperature warning installed, but ATM I would appreciate it if anyone has any information regarding the airbag/ power supply issue?

Thanks!

A quick Sunday update for today's progress.

My Dad and I have been restoring the ARBs I bought off a GTi breaking on ebay a few months ago. They have been sitting around doing nothing so I thought I'd crack on with them today, as when I get paid I'm gonna be buying my bushes. I'm going for standard bushes to save money, the Polybushes are SOO expensive, plus mine is only a 1.1, not lowered or individualised so normal day to day driving that I do will not see the extra benefits of the Polybushes.

Just a few quick photos:
Front ARB getting prepped and a rub down.

Rear arb and various brackets with 1st coat on.

The paint I am using for this job, Hammerite Black. Hopefully should mean the ARBs stay rust free for the life of the car. Well, with the amount I'm putting on anyways.

Cheers!

Thats the first sun blind I've seen!!

Excellent upgrades! Wish rover made them like this!

Your MG looks like new too! I think we need it adding to the 1.3 gallery as its such a tidy example!!

Those pictures are really easy to do.
They are called a longer exposure photo, your need a tripod or rest that camera on a wall or something. Set the lens to open for a couple of seconds. Time it right when theres a moving light in the back ground like a motorway.

There is some skill in it but its easy to master.
Your need to adjust how much the lens opens and the lenght on time you want. Longer the lens is open the more light can get in, but too much light will then be a problem and your get an over exposure, so you set the lens to open less. Obvisouly adjust the sets on each and keep trying and your get an awesome photo.

Water reflections of lights work really well too.

Heres one of my metro

Update.

I installed my Rover ZERO temperature warning system, it is, to be honest, a little bit naff, but I like my genuine accessories and have never seen one installed [other than Cerbera's last 2 Metros] so thought I'd install it. I was putting it off for a while but no idea why as it took me about 1 hour to fit and it works 100%.

Some photos:
The dash LEDs, they currently sit above surface. I am going to to get a spare blank then eventually set about countersinking the black plastic circle into the blank so it looks a little more official.

The control unit that is placed under the dash:

The temperature probe which is located on the front of the car, barely visible to the untrained eye:

That's it for now!

Yeah, I've decided a 25 is too much to insure until at least May next year, so I want to refine and modernize my car a bit until then.

Looking good, can never understand how Rover needed a control box for that temperature indicator... reminds me of something we made for about £1 in A-Level electronics

Boot tidy looks good, I'd go for one if I had a boot left after the audio install

This afternoon before I have to go to work for my grusome late turn I thought I'd put in my GTi grey carpet, and as always it took way longer that I thought it would, mainly because of a rounded off torx nut on the rear bench.

I was also VERY happy with my floor pan with not even a SPEC of rust anywhere and everything included all insulation bone dry!

Here are some photos:

Waxoyl marks I previously had applied around the drain holes in the passenger footwell. I did check under the front interior blulkhead unsulation aswell and all was dry and rust free.

Driver's footwell.

Overall front floorpan.

Ill get some photos of the nice GTi carpet in soon. Totally forgot and wanted a sit down. lol

Looks great that buddy.

I know what you mean about the torx screws on the seats. The rear ones are an absolute arse to get to!

I've swapped them for some allen key head ones and made life so much more easier. Found I couldn't tighten up the torx ones to a safe amount with the tools I had.

Today I waxoyled the underneath of the car for the second year in a row, last year's coat was a base so from now on every year will get not as major top up coats before the winter to keep the salt away.

Some pics, as we all like lots of pics:

Ok, yesterday Martin came down from Gloucester to sunny South East London for some Rover 600 headlight covers I had and bit of a road trip. I had made my miniature 'extension' Y- piece loom for the twin horns. Martin and I then hunted for somewhere in the bay to mount them, and we decided on the carbon canister mount of the side of the battery tray. [May vary for other cars- ie. MPis... etc..??]

I have taken some photos of the mount and also made a rough diagram of the wiring 'loom' I made up.
You will need:
- 2 additional oval 2 pin female connectors. [From Rover 25 horns]
- 1 addition male oval 2 pin connector. [From Rover 100/ Metro rear fog lamp (inside car behind rear light cluster on driver side)]
- Soldering Iron & solder
- Heatshrink or Insulation tape.
- 8mm, 10mm & 13mm sockets, 1/2 ratchett and various extension bars.

You can see from the golden colour Rover 25 bracket it's positioning and how we had to slightly bend it out to avoid resting & vibrating on the battery tray.

Something exciting! lol

Something, I've wanted for a long time but never really been able to find in good enough condition for a half reasonable price, but here we are- I finally have one.

I had to modify it to take my radio controls from my previous steering wheel as I don't think any TF wheels came with radio remote [?] and if they did, good nick Silver ones will be crazy money and rare as! lol

The radio remote doesn't fit as snug as it does on normal airbag wheels as the curve profile is different from the standard Rover wheel. I'm keeping the MG airbag for a while til I can neatly enough cut the bottom of a Rover wheel, although I don't think I'll be able to keep the SRS light [MOT?] as it too low and in line with the cut, so I'm after the same type airbag as I had but with no light. The LED rattles around inside the new TF wheel.

I love it! Feels so much nicer and noticeably smaller than my old wheel but chunkier, so feels nicer to hold and steer.

Steering wheel looks ace! top job! So tempted! that must be your forth steering wheel, each one better than the last lol.

you could wire the SRS light into the switch blank like purplehaz has done?

Or just fit the r100 air bag for MOT day,
On my 200vi wheel, ive put some self tappers into the wheel to hold the SRS light LED to the steering wheel. I got another r200vi leather wheel (for my 620ti) and its got the gap for the lights, I guess rover deleted it to save some rubber!!

Camber on that rear wheel looks a bit iffy :/

Otherwise, looks good lowered with the gti skirts and deserves to be lowered properly(or give some fat mates a lift everywhere) and IMO, MPi 1.4 8v or 16v conversion would finish this car off.

Well Liam, if there is a problem with the camber, it's not just getting it individualised, it's radius arms and bearings. :/ Worrying me now. :/

Ah ok Sean, thats a really good thing to know! I greased them today aswell. Wonder why I have a camber then? The tyre is scrubbing on the inner edge onto the road but I bought it part worn and can't remember what it was like.

Unless the bearing has collapsed since then, best to jack up give it a wobble.
Not the end of the world if it has gone, pretty easy to replace.

Knew you couldn't resist fitting em

Needs the lows at the back even more now (rich coming from me I know haha)

Just looking at the pics I'd say colour coded side strips and try doing the bumper strips in black, got a feeling it'll look really good...

Thanks for the comments people, I'm really pleased with the wheels but need the suspension individualising and the arches etc rolled (?) for them and the car to sit nicely as they rub atm. For this reason, today i got the car pumped up for until I get the suspension done before Pride of Longbridge hopefully. We also got the GTi exhaust from cliffordliam's 114GSi it randomly had and fitted it to my car.

What's the deal with arches front and back and 14s on? do I have to roll them for the car to sit nicely, but not crazy low, as sometimes I do have 4 people in my car???

Doing the exhaust this morning:

Old exhaust:

New exhaust on and running:

Looks much nicer.

Then in the afternoon I decided I wanted my suspension pumped so we went to Fastparts Mini and Metro specialist in Croydon and had it donr for now til my suspension is individualised so the wheels don't scrub.

Cool pics:

Really nice 1275 mini they had in for some work:

Liam test driving my car after the pump on private road:

Decided to check a knocked on the exhaust and a wheel bearing noise that has come up by raising her up:

Came to the conclusion that the driver's radius arm has play and needs doing and a right hand [I think rear] wheel bearing needs doing aswell.

Also, some snow pics.

Looks awesome mate

With regards to the arches you will be better off rolling them all the way round if you have passengers a lot, depending on how solid your arches are of course. Individualising will help as it will stiffen it up a lot.

How do the front arch liners clip into place if the arch lips are rolled on the front wings?
Thanks for the comment. Love the wheels.

Gonna colour code side strips eventually.

Whilst advertising for the SE convoy to PoL on the Maestro forum I saw someone fitting these to their Maestro and I like them, so have some on their way! I think they are a nice subtle touch and should work well with the silver colour of my car. Will get pics of them on.

Right, gave the car a fully proper wash today- first one with the wheels on.

Also, have the chrome indicator surrounds which I think look smart and suit my car.

Also spotted this local-ish to me;

and it is currently FOR SALE, £250. PM me if interested.

Took my rear bumper and all that off today for first time since I've had the car, nice and clean and no rot to report. It was off as I was trying to fit Quickspider's old Rover 213 reverse light into the fog blank as it's same fitment. HAd to mod it a bit to fit as the back of the lamp goes back further than a fog lamp and is set lower in bumper than a MK3. Yet to be wired in.

Haven't updated this for ages.

I joined the club, my HG finally gave up the ghost and was repaired thanks to 'R100_VVC' / Sean back in May. The oil was slowly weeping into the cooling system. There was no mayo, just the coolant was now a brown sludge. It never overheated and ran fine so really it was just me wanting it done for peace of mind that made me get it done. Luckily the oil wasn't contaminated at all so saved a couple pennies there. There was photos but Liam's mobile decided to wipe itself, so there are no longer any photos of the job. We used new genuine Rover head bolts and elastomer Payen headgasket, not MLS. This is due to experience of Sean that has found many MLS gaskets weeping externally causing issues later on, and especially as the engine is wet liner.

In other news, the radius arms were giving play and since they are hard to get I changed them when my local motor factors had just 1 of each side in stock. Daz and Sean did these aswell as I've never even thought about anything to do with them or fitting them so. Actually have photos!

Radius arm off;

Old bearing on passenger side! Wouldn't come out!

Car jacked up;

New K series arms! Hard to find now.

New arm on;

Car handles and feels so much better and tighter now.

Last year I removed the plugs out of the jacking point in the hope that should the underlay ever get wet it would help dry it out- except for when you drive through a mega deep puddle, then that's how the water gets in!

After taking the underlay out to dry I decided when I put it all back in to give the car a proper good clean inside and out as the interior is a mess most of the time;

Had these for ages and finally got round to fitting them, uber rare Metro GS C & D pillar trims. Covers the painted metal and makes inside bit nicer.

Plans to make it go faster soon...

With the go faster plans getting closer, thought we'd better make the car stop aswell.
Ordered from ebay, a Mintex disc and pad set.

Few photos of me and Liam fitting MGF brakes to my car. Painted the calipers with smooth Blue Hammerite aerosol. Different.

Old brakes off

New disc on.

New pads ready.

The work space. My car in good company.

New caliper attached to brake lines

New caliper and brakes all on on

The other side was the same job. Lol

My car loaded right up- apart from me. Haha

And at Lakeside the other night with Sean and Daz

For the upcoming VVC, I've got some custom-ish dials in the car now made from 3 different sets.

- Early K series style rev counter with the Low fuel and high temp LEDs. Although yet to wire in the low fuel LED.
- Rover 100 warning light lens
- Metro GTi 150 clocks.

Some piccies

Did you put the R100 warning lights into a Gti Cluster? Just wandering about the difference in the circuit board on the back of the unit.

According to Martin, the stumps are there for the LED, literally JUST the LED missing so just a case of soldering one in. The high temp one should flash if you disconnect the coolant temperate sensor.

I have had for a long time a set of MNX Platinium silver MGF mk2 electric mirrors with intent on fitting them to the Rover. Eventually with the help of Gerrard [Gshaw] and Lee [Geraard's electric guru mate] we hacked up a MGF loom from Tony and fitted them to my car. Been handy in the icy mornings! Some photos;

I ordered ages ago some bogo spec mirror covers with no adjuster hole in, small things.

All the wires we DIDN'T need. lol

Wiring loom for mirrors.

The car was VVC'd over a weekend in November with the help of Liam and Greg.

The engine is of about 92k miles when put into my car running MEMS3 143 from this Rover 25 GTi.

We had delays getting the converted loom but was promised it so started the conversion on the garunteed that it would have turned up on the second day when we would be finishing the conversion. The loom didn't turn up so Liam kindly leant me his for a week until mine turned as his didn't use his car for work luckily at that time.

Out comes the old faithful 51k, 1100 single point, 8v engine. Ran sweet as a nut, felt bad removing it actually. [If anyone is interested in this engine, PM me.] Seriously it's way too goog to go into a skip. Everything is done on it. HG is a new Payen one about 9k miles ago.

Had the VVC all in and ready to drive out of the garage to get closer to the hose [10m] and there was no clutch pedal, dead on the floor. We decided after our longg day to put the car away and head home.

We came back the next day at about 12pm to start, whip the engine back out and check the clutch. This turned about to be the clutch plate was the wrong way round. Whoops. We got it all back in about 6pm and we started filling her up with coolant. It was a pain in the arse to bleed, constant air and cold heaters no matter what we tried, ongoing for hours. We then tried pulling all the hoses off and starting again filling with a hose!

We were very tired, having been working on the car for 11 hours, very cold and starting to bicker- not good!

We would fill it up, bleed, get 200m and the temperature needle would be in the red, although everything seemed ok when idling. Gut instinct was telling us that the water pump had issues, but getting to about 1AM [yes AM the next day!] we decided for ease to change the stat from my old 1100 which we knew was in good order- no difference, then thinking, hoping that waterpump was knackered [first time ever wanting something to be fooked!] we took the old water pump off to reveal this....

No wonder it was getting hot! No circulation. The spindle was turning the impeller as low revs and keeping it cool but any sort of revs and the impeller would sit still as the spindle spun at high RPM. We got the new water pump on [from my 1.1] and it idled and drove ok, so we bled it up and I then drove 60 miles taking Greg home at 3am.

Since getting the VVC running correctly and sorting the iffy water pump it had a bad oil leak from the cam carrier so Sean fixed this for me at the same time as fitting the Kent exhaust cam Liam used to have in one of his VVC engines.
Resealing the cam carrier and fitting the Kent cam;

Since living with the VVC for a couple months I am sure not to rag it whilst cold and I thought about fitting a Oil temperature gauge, to give indication of when the engine is ready for some beans. I made up a fan blank from the soft touch plastic dash surround I bought to keep the interior matcing-ish. Not wired up yet, but it is going to work with a special sump drain nut ordered from Eliseparts with a thread in the middle for a sensor. I have also ordered a Oil pressure switch that will illuminate the dash light at 12psi instead of a potentially fatal 4psi.

Will update when wired in.

The power is nice! The engine has a really quiet VVC mech. Needs a little tweeking still- I'm sure it needs a new Idle control valve but I'll get around it, these cold days aren't nice.

Car in the recent snow last week

And it turned 53k

Nice build Have you got the cam dialed in? How much difference has it made interms of response?

What idle problem are you having?

Sean installed the cam for me, so I assume so. The cam didn't make much difference as when I put it in I was running an SPI fuel pump so it wasn't running it's full potential, I still have a restrictive exhaust aswell. It's very lump and sometimes approaching a junction I dip the clutch and the engine will cut out. I can start it fineand it will run normally.

Just interest as to how many degs of adjustment was required.

You might want to look into the Lambda sensor as a possibility for your lumpy idle and cutting out issue. The air idle control valve is less likely to cause a lumpy idle, what rpm is it trying to idle at? I had a pre cat lambda go down on my 25 GTi, which caused same symptoms as you describe.

The exhaust cam is on standard pegs, he has a set of off-set dowels but needs to have gauges put on to check which direction is optimum. But before this Dave needs to change that weeping mls gasket as a different gasket will change cam timing and of course that standard exhaust will hold back any modifications

Sean with the thermostat and water pump from my 1.1 I am still getting symptoms of a crap radiator. 5th gear at 30 cruising and temp will rise, drop it into 3rd and it will go back down to normal. I have the MGF rad too! Only thing that is different is that dodgey gasket??

Either way the gasket is leaking, so its worth starting there. Possible slight air leaking into the water system causing the water not to flow well when engine is at low speeds.

Id get the headgasket done asap. The longer you run it with a weeping gasket the greater the chance of warping the head with uneven clamping pressure of the head. As Sean says these are symptons of the hot running too. Make sure you have the head skimmed when you replace the gasket. My 25GTi suffered a hgf, checked the head with a straight edge, no liner indents but after replacing the gasket it failed within 3K! The head was out of flat exhaust to inlet.

Ohh great, as I use my car daily I won't be able to get to work if the head has to be sent away to be skimmed- it has already been skimmed once I think, can it be skimmed again.

Just needs the head height checking once it is off to see if there is a skim left on it. There should be. The hot running could be due to the system not being pressurised quite aswell if there is a leak. The boiling point of coolant is higher when pressurised, so when you introduce it to air, i.e de-pressurised then the coolant will boil. If the gasket is weeping you will get hot spots at the leaking area which again doesnt help with the warping issue. Get it done ASAP if i was you.

Loving the VVC in that mate hehe im soo gonna go for that engine in mine.... Looks soo sweet and with a 145bhp I bet it bloody flies like a wasp stung cheetah... What it like for torque steer?? Do you use a LSD and would your recommend one with that engine.. Also what box are you using it with? The standard Peugeot box or the MGF one with the subframe??

This is running the standard long ratio R65 from the 1.1. It doesn't really suffer with torque steer, it just goes.

My car has been SORN since the start of April with an issue with the cooling system. The car would get hot when idling or cruising at low revs/ high gears.

So in preparation for it's MOT and return to the road, the top end was practically rebuilt, once again by Sean, consisting of; Head skim and clean, new Payen Elastomer HG, new headbolts, new cam seals, new cambelts, new waterpump, new 82 stat, fresh oil and filter, fresh OAT coolant, new lambda sensor and new alternator belt.

There seems to be an existing issue of the fan cutting in nearly in the red, however it drives ok and doesn't get hot quickly upon idle. I am going to test with a pair of alternative CTSs.

Here are some photos of the rebuilt, once again by Sean.

Smallest up date ever really.

Obtained some pre painted silver vents from a cabby breaking on ebay and I got some ideas from it also. (I'm not chopping my roof off! lol)

Also spent about 3 hours giving the car it's first proper clean from being laid up end of March this year. By god it was hard work.

Got some of Ralph's droop stop spacers and new droop stops. My god, what a difference! Whole car feels much tighter and less twitchy at the rear.

Fitted along with some nice new stainless bolts.

Only got pic of 1 side fitted as I forgot. Lol

Each of the original 56k droop stops were pretty knackered.

Also, raided a modded ZR at the scrappy and amoungst other things I got a TF hand brake grip from it. I wiggled the Rover 100 one off, and the TF one goes straight on perfect fit!

Haven't updated this for so long. I refurbed the interior and the VVC died.

GSi door caps and leather trim door cards with GTi Lux Pack half leathers.

I also got a really nice condition black camcover from Sean. My local car shop was doing the allen head bolts cheap too You can just see the PRT in the edge of photo. I also gave the header tank a good clean up too since the NOS ones are silly prices lol

I have also fitted a R65 quickshift that is one of my favourite mods for
£20. I'd also recommend to everyone even without a quickshift to pop the rod off of it's ball joints and apply a pea sized blob of grease into each socket. It really slicked up my gear changes.
