Location: Up in the lakes | Never seen one of these on the road. What year is it and is it the 450 or 600cc engine? I wouldnt bother with a cage.. Its already got a 0-60 of around 30 seconds. Dont want to add any unnecessary weight

Location: Earl shilton, leicestershire | its a 602cc model and dunno what year it is as i not looked and yer it needs a cage have u seen what happens if u flip it in strong wind and u probally wont see one there not usally used as everyday cars might vts it as dunno if the engine fits and if it doesnt im going to turbo it ive seen some mad conversions on these im going to sort rust out first and then lower it then do a engine conversion

might vts it as dunno if the engine fits
Vts is a very common engine conversion in an ax an the engine is not really bigger, block is almost the same size, can fit the original gearbox to the vts engine therefore the vts must fit in (or not need much more work) and will be able to use the same gearbox the ax conversion would use |

Location: Up in the lakes | Dont ax's use 4cylinder engines? the dyane uses an aircooled flat 2. It'l be more like fitting a vts lump to a 2cv than an ax wont it? Reckon the engine and box would fit in with a few custom parts and a bit of fabrication |

Location: Earl shilton, leicestershire | i finally looked at the amount of work needed on the citroen dyane and i can honestly say its worse than i thought the whole floor needs replacing the doors are rusty as fuck and theres mold on the windows and the seats are so uncomfortable its unreal but ive got a 2cv shell i can fit to it and i going to fit bucket seats so its all good |

Location: Wolverhampton | some ax's used a different gearbox fitment to the VTS. If you are going to fit an 8v Tu, i'd recommend a rallye unit from an s1. Its all alloy and only a 1.3 making 100bhp which is more than your normal ax gt/git |

You should have done that drawing to scale on your etch a sketch, then you could have worked it out |

if you havnt got the money to weld it you certainly havnt got the cash to be thinking about engine conversions, you "young-ens" dont understand that the costs mount up real quick especially when as youre doing the job "you may aswell..." then in an old car youll find it fights you all the way and all sorts of things will need work and changing.
If i were you (especially seen as im currently looking for insurance for my younger sisters first car - whos a lot older than you) id worry about getting a car on the road and insurance paid first, as i bet even with a classic youll be paying well over £1000 just to insure it, you may find they wont insure you with an engine conversion |

Location: Earl shilton, leicestershire | lol it won't fit I've been studying it for 3 nights the only big engine that will fit is out the Citroën gs its only a 1100cc which is shit so want a metro to replace the one I got rid of to fund this project and to be honest its worse than I thought the body work rots like no tomorrow and its so plain its like the model t ford its so boring I had to get my phone out to listen to music I like having music blaring In the background so getting a Austin metro to replace this waste of time project don't no why I decide to take it on I'm a trainee mechanic and its abit much for my first project will scrap it..... |
