You also need a remote wire to the amp, this small blue wire needs to be connected to a switch ignition live point on the car, usually via a blue wire coming from the back of the headunit. This is the amp installed, now. from the headunit, if you are amplifying your car speakers using the original preamplified outputs you need a high input amp as passing 40-52w through an rca input will blow your amp. simply, you need to run headunit output to amp and then to speakers. typically the same as the setup that comes as standard but with an amplifier between. If you are running the speakers from a non amplified rca output on the back of the headunit you first need to isolate and seal the preamplified wires unless they are still in use. To do this you need to cap and seal each wire individually to ensure that they do not ground on the chassis or on each other. With this checked you then run the rca cable to the amplifier and then run the outputs to the speakers. If following this guide does not work, then turn the stereo on as normal and check the amp. 1 Is it warming up 2 Is the protect/isolate light on 3 is the power light on as brightly as it should be 3b does the power light go off when i disconnect the rca cables 4 Are all fuses intact 5 are the speaker connections strong 6 is there a buzzing or hissing from the speakers at 100% volume | ||
