 Expert Posts: 4458    Location: Jelling, Denmark | me and my girlfriend took the 998 a-series to Ikea the other day to purchase a lot of stuff. We managed to fit us two in the car together with 3 bathroom cupboards and their doors, 2 kitchen cupboards and their doors, one giant mirror 160cm x 75cm, 2 roller storage things and 5 baskets, 2 extra cupboard doors, 2 desks, two office chairs, and some smaller stuff. but that is all that it can hold there was not room for any more stuff and the metro was even slower than usual on the way home. I very much doubt that I would have been able to fit all this stuff in the rover 400. Apologies for the crappy phone pics:   | ||

Elite Veteran Posts: 763 | metro190bhp - 2/1/2014 8:28 PM Use to use my old diesel one to carry rubbish to the tip was brilliant I had a small trailer to take my scrap to the scrapyard, when I wieghed the 450kg of batterys in I wieghed over 600kg of ferrous metal in lol  I also towed my mates vw bora tdi back with the same car lol now thats practicality I will try to find some pics I towed him 18 miles lol | ||

Regular Posts: 241 Location: Germany | I killed my new built A series engine, so we took the K series Metro for a four week trip to Portugal, where we did one week of surfing. 6,5 k km with roof tent, two bicycles and fully loaded. Surprisingly I only filled up the oil once and had no problems. Even the fuel consuption was very acceptable: Most of the time around 38mpg, butI was really driving carefully. The roof tent is very comfortable. It only takes a minute to fold it up and one can leave the matress and sleeping bags up there. Glad my parents bought it with a land rover around 20 years ago.
