Member Posts: 67 ![]() ![]() | I have replaced the air filter on my carb 1.1 and it is running rougher now than before I changed it. I wondered whether this is due to an increased air flow and so weaker mixture - any other carb jockeys had this effect? Also the old filter was a bit squashed in the housing and my new filter is a tight fit and is being a bit crushed also - any ideas? The housing is original and the filter is a correct type pzper element.

Not yet... The rough running is a poorer idle and slightly less keen acceleration and jerky low-speed, low gear running. Probably the mixture and timing so I'll have to go somewhere that can still do that stuff. No plug - and - replace something here eh?

No plug - and - replace something here eh? if the rough running "beat" is "on beat" with the engine the mixture might be to rich if it is "out of beat" with the engine then it might be too lean but this might be hard to hear and you will not be able to complete the engine tune up in this way, only get an idea. but of course your timing must be right first.
