If you want smoked repeaters get a smoked pair off a ZR, theyre guarunteed quality and look good. As for the exhaust... theyre very loud, look into getting a GTi setup or similar... they have back pressure that the K series engines are tuned for and sound great at revs. Looking really good, Each to there own I say! Would look good in colour coded red with a matt black dashboard and interior items, would be a lot less shiny. Also would look excellent with a 200 BRM front grille fitted in black. theres a few metros on here that have them in orange. Edited by MetroMuppet 28/11/2010 11:59 AM

As for ideas, I would do the following: - Would be good with a leather steering wheel from a R200? I got the 200vi one in mine with stalk remote control, the fatter grip and leather feels much nicer when driving. You can get a patch lead adaptor for under £20 of ebay for the JVC headunit too to use the rover radio remote. I've done a how too guide. http://www.metropower.org.uk/Portal/default.asp?id=279&mnu=279 Paint the A pilar trims black too? They pull upwards to remove them but I did cut my hand as they are sharpe! Find some GTi B pilar trims and do them black too. Don't paint the wheels, they look good that clean silver!! Red calipers and black rear drums would look good. Electric windows and remote central locking.

I am thinking about a laguna splitter too, do you reckon both would look good? and also, this BRM grille where can i find one? As for the exhaust, like all 3.5 systems, it's very loud even with decat, thats why most car manufacturers make the last section of the pipe much smaller diameter to the res of the system. You can get a BRM grille from ebay, or a breakers for 20-30 quid, Laguna splitters look good, but are expensive for what they are... If you do get one make sure you cut the ends rather than the middle as it looks better and is easier to line up symetrically, plus then it is easier to sell on. I think the next thing on the cards should be the suspension, theres members on here that can do the job for about 100 quid all in, but make sure you know they can do it. I would say the BRM grille would look good in white as it contrasts the bumper.

If it doesn't start water will be inside it and your have to take it off and dry it. the rear is quite water proof. Need a new bonnet stay clip. Easy to remove as you need to push a little tab back with a flat head screw driver on the engine side. I think its the same on a few rovers and some fords aswell so easy to find.

Could be worth putting some wheel cleaner on there aswell to help break down the dirt a bit first. All the plastic and metal parts come up really well. the oil near the spark plugs and onto of the gearbox will come off eaiser. Also dont aim at the end of the clutch cable otherwise your need to regrease it as it will squeek.

The wing is a mile out of line, must have been off at somepoint if not replaced. If its been replaced with a non genuine wing then it will be a bitch to line up if at all possible. Your wing looks to be way too high at the moment. To adjust it you need to slacken off all of the screws, including the ones along the edge of the bonnet shut. Firstly pull the wing downwards and tighten up the sill bolt.then work your way around to align the door to the wing. Obviously you need to take into account the body shut line whilst doing this, but you need to try and pull the wing forwards towards the headlight at the same time. You may have to slacken off screws to allow movement in some directions, but only just slacken them, dont loosen them off totally as you will loose any alignment that you have gained already.

I remember removing the vinyl strips, then getting to the wing and being all confused as to why this side was painted on and the drivers was vinyl. do you think this means it is a non genuine wing, because if it is. i wont bother!

Well I would say looking at it that there is a good chance that its a non genuine wing but with a bit of manipulation you should be able to make it fit a bit better than it is currently. Genuine wings need a bit of adjustment generally too so its worth a go!

Then using the supplied drill bit, you drill the hole with the buggered thread oversize, then use the supplied tap to cut a new thread. then using the insrt tool insert the helicoil into the newly cut thread, then punch the little tab off the back of the helicoil and there you have a new thread. the only hard bit is making sure you drill he hole square and dont drill too far into the head the kit will probably come with insructions, ill try and find a link to a good quality set when i get home.

Well... 1st - wheelspun all the way through the revs, hit the limiter then slammed into 2nd... the combination of the type a diff making the car feel like its driving over cobbled streets at 70 and the gearchange itself sent the car into super vibrating mode. On a dry day obviously no issue, probably a great mounting position, but on a day where there is a lot of standing water and spray i think you could run into problems. If you think about how manufacturers route their cold air intakes, they tend to shield them one way or another. For example on the 25/ZR they used a open intake like that but shielded behind the bumper.

A cycle of derv oil in a petrol car can do it the world of good, but maybe only run for a half interval of 5-6k miles.

If you out thick oil in to shut them up you wont fill your tappeta and loose power and your engine wont be protected aswell when cold and will wear faster. Get more mechs or go solid cam, or man-up and get a louder exhaust so you cant hear them ![]()
